The Competition is played in zonal groups in the qualifying stages

Group winners through to the Semi Finals

The form of the competition

All clubs taking part may enter one team

All players must be registered by the club with the Ribblesdale league, and not have played with any other adult Saturday League in the current season.

The Club's Professional is eligible to play, and subject to League rules a substitute professional may be used.

Rules

Fixtures

 Fixtures to be completed on the agreed date, but if bad weather intervenes, the match can be rearranged provided that the clubs are in agreement, and enough overs have not been bowled in the second innings to constitute a game.

Semi finals to be completed by the end of July.

Final to be played in August.

Umpires

League umpires will be provided

Points

2 points for a win

1 point for a void game

In a tied game the winner will be:‑

a)         The team losing least wickets.

b)        If the number of wickets lost is equal then the highest number of runs scored in the last 10 overs (Then 5 overs then I over)

Order in the groups to be decided on points. If this is equal at the top, then the team with the highest run rate will go through.

Run rate will be calculated by the total number of runs scored in completed games divided by the total number of overs received. (A part of an over to count as a full over)

Number of Overs

Matches normally shall be of 20 overs per side. By agreement teams may play a reduced number.

Any match with an innings of less than 10 overs, will be void unless a result has already been achieved.

In the event of weather or bad light intervening in the second innings, as long as 10th over has already started, then a run rate result can be obtained.

Fielding Circle & Number of Fielders on the leg side.

There will be a 25 yard fielding circle, with four players plus the bowler and wicketkeeper within the circle at all times. In the final this will be 30 yards)

No more than 5 fielders on the leg side at any one time.

Balls

Teams will bat there own Balls

Bowlers overs

Bowlers are restricted to a maximum of 4 overs.

Bowlers will be restricted to a 15 yard run up.

In a shortened game bowlers are allowed one fifth of the total, with the remainder shared.

E.g. 17 overs 3,3,3.4,4.

Wide balls

Balls outside the leg stump will be classed as wide, and any ball passing over shoulder height will be a no ball.

Free Hit

There will he a free hit for a foot fault no ball. This will he the ball bowled after the no ball. The field can be rearranged for a free hit.

Fixtures and Results information
